Make Your Own Havaianas 2009

I went to the 4th “make your own havaianas” event last May 29. This is the second year that the event was held in the Rockwell tent. There was a really long line outside the tent. After more or less 2 hours, we were able to get inside the tent. It was (cold and) crazy inside! There were a lot of people and more lines! There was a line for assembling of the strap, sole, and pins. There was another line for embellishments. The last line was for payments.

I liked the layout of the place. In the center, there were roulettes of different colors of straps and soles. The pins and embellishments were displayed under the roulettes. There were also round tables which were used to fill out the MYOH forms. In the center of the ceiling there was a flip-flop chandelier and on the sides were artsy photos of havaianas.

It took me more than 10 minutes to decide on my color combination. My first choice was brown (strap) and olive green (sole). I wanted to put a tarsier on the strap. When I was ready to have my pair assembled, the girl who assisted me said that they already ran out of olive green soles for my size. I then went for my second choice which was black (strap) and yellow (sole). I got a vintage TV pin (since I’m a video editor) and a Noypi pin (proud to be Pinoy!) attached on my left slipper. I had 2 crystals attached to my right slipper. I love the way they packed the pair! It was not longer placed in a paper bag. They put it in a recyclable black bag which had a red rubber havaianas bag tag attached to it. Lovely!

After paying for our pairs, we had our photowall pictures taken.

Dream Bag

Love at first sight.

That's what I felt when I saw a Balenciaga Motorcycle bag. It does not look too girly. It has an attitude!

The thing is, a brand new bag is way over my budget. So I searched one on the net.

When I saw one on an auction site, I watched the item. Luckily, with the help of my mom and my shiftmates, I won the auction!

I got myself a pre-owned 2002 Balenciaga Black Suede Multi-Zip First.

I love it to bits! It's now one of my prized possessions. HAHA

Splurge Week

From September 17-22, I have been “enjoying” my hard earned moola.


Monday: I treated my friend in Bacolod Chicken and I also got to buy the Korean movies and series that I wanted.


Wednesday: I went to the derma with my mom and my aunts. I had my usual treatment. I also bought my meds.
Side story: We passed by Rajo Laurel’s store before going to the derma. While my mom and I were reading magazines in the waiting area, the owner passed by us. He gave a second look then said “pretty.” Oooh… flattering! Sharing! Hahaha…


Thursday: I bought a pair of crocs mary janes in grape. I fell in love with the color plus I really wanted to get that style. I’m loving them! No actual photo though coz they are quite dirty at the moment since it has been raining lately.





Friday: After having lunch in Bubble Tea with my officemates, I passed by Adidas to check on the Ateneo Apparel. I was able to get a jacket that fit perfectly!

Saturday: I went to Greenhills with my mom. She decided to buy my iPod from me so I bought a new one. I got an 8gb iPod nano in blue. I decided to purchase a small one coz I realized I won’t be needing an iPod with a huge capacity since I am going to get a laptop anyway. I am currently putting my songs and videos in it. I can now easily share the videos that I have edited. The cover flow feature is really cool! I am now organizing all the songs that I put so that it would look good in cover flow.

beautiful weekend

I went out last Saturday with my mom. She dropped me off the derma first (@ skin101 white plains) since i needed a consultation badly. Found out that MAC was too strong for my skin (well apparently it's not for Asians) so she told me to go for Clinique or Asian brands. I also had a facial since I really needed it. Found out that I should have a facial monthly. She also gave me meds for my face. I actually had fun in the derma coz I learned a lot about taking care of my face! haha VAIN

After that, I wanted to go to Megamall coz I wanted to get something from Mango. There was a mall wide sale (i think) so i thought that i could buy more cute work outfits (this is due to watcing hello miss and witch yoo hee). Well, I did not get to go and splurge coz traffic was HORRIBLE! We decided to go to Eastwood instead. I saw my ex-blockmate Lionel wit his significant other. We chatted a little then my stepdad and I went to the bookstore to browse techie books. After that, my mom and I checked out BAYO and plains & prints. I saw a cute jacket @ BAYO but it was quite expensive. I'll go find one @ SFS instead. If I don't find one then that's wen I'll buy it. Anyway, we went to the face shop after coz I had to buy make-up. I was the only girl at work who does not wear it so there. I got a 2-way powder (the phytogenic thingy), green eye shadow (the one that had a base and a highlight in one) and a green sparkly eyeliner. The girl also gave me some samples. Now I'm addicted to their products. I'm going to buy their make-up remover, red soil foaming facial wash, and clear mascara next! I also want to buy 2 Grendene shoes from the shoe salon. Speaking of which, I bought another pair of Melissa's last week. I bought a pink campana and I love them!!!
I think that shopping is really a therapy for girls. I really enjoyed what I did over the weekend. Looking forward to more shopping days!

Pasig Day -- Holiday

I thought I would have more me time today. I planned on watching a Korean movie and an episode of a Korean series. Unfortunately, I had to go to TriNoma to have a check-up at the Medical City. I have been complaining about the lower right of my tummy since May 1. Turns out I got mild UTI. I think it was due to my "kaartehan" with public toilets. Oh well, serves me right.

Anyway, we went there before lunch. We intended to go home before 3 coz of the number coding scheme but then the doctor came in at 2pm so we had to stay at TriNoma until 7pm. We went around the mall, looked at shoes and ate merienda. We went to the top floor to see the new food stalls. I was hoping that Max Brenner was open but tough luck. We decided to have some Cold Rock instead. I found a yummy combination! Strawberry yogurt with cookie dough or fudge brownies. YUMMY!!!
After eating, I went to Bench FIX to have my hair fixed. I had a haircut yesterday at Profiles Katipunan together with my mom and both our hair were destroyed. Grrrr..... I like the stylists in FIX better. They are very knowledgeable in the styling business. hehehe.. I sooo like my hair now. I thanked the stylist a couple of times coz he was able to fix my weird haircut.

We went to my grandma's house at west ave to pick up something before finally going home. After writing this entry, I'll watch my Korean stuff. hehehe...

Last Tuesday, I went to Metrowalk with Mia to kill time (number coding din ako pag Tuesday). Had lots of fun. Chill lang. Sakto! I love you Mia! Super thanx for the company. Hope you find the perfect job for you soon.

the Triangle North of Manila

A.K.A. trinoma... That's the new Ayala mall located in north EDSA. It is right in front of SM North EDSA. The other end of the MRT stops in front of it bringing the mall foot traffic.

We were so excited to go there (Poj, my mom, and me). We went there yesterday. It was raining and there was heavy traffic but it was ok.

They said that the parking lot can handle 8000 vehicles but I guess not all are functioning yet because we had a hard time parking.

The mall was huge and complete! All the major stores that you would wish to be in a mall were there. There was toys r us, comic alley, zara, mango, nike, nike women, crocs, all flip flops, quiksilver, nothing but water, gozum, cinderella, national bookstore, princess club, hobbes and landes, people r people, the t-shirt project and a lot more! not all are open though. I think only about 15% of the mall's tenants are functioning. The mall seemed dark. I guess it was because the lights were covered with colored plastic things or maybe because not all the stores are open.

The mall looked like glorietta in the inside. It also had an activity center. There was a set-up of Strawberry Shortcake yesterday. cute!

The major fastfoods such as Mcdo, KFC, and Jollibee were not to be missed. We ate in Jollibee. I like the Jollibee there coz it had a modern look. There were also sofas, just like the ones in coffee shops.
I liked the plaza the best! It was sort of outdoors and it had beautiful greenery. hehehe.. loved it! The food stalls were located there. There was Dencio's, Gerry's, Crustacia, and Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.
We live in the QC area and therefore we travel far just to get to Galleria, Megamall, Glorietta, Greenbelt, or the Fort. Ayala did a great job building this mall. We do not have to travel far anymore. The shops that we frequent in serendra (crocs & all flip flops) are there. I hope there would be an outlet of Sonja's cupcakes though. hehehe..

I think the mall caters to classes A, B, and C, although there would still be the D & E crowd since it is located in north EDSA after all.

anyway...

We bought jibbitz yesterday in crocs. At first, I really did not like crocs since they looked weird. I also thought that they would prevent your feet from breathing. After trying them, I changed my mind. they were soft and super light!I now have 2 pairs (1 prima and 1 kids cayman). I would really love to get a mary jane though... after that i'll stop and resume collecting havies.. hehehe... The jibbitz, I think, is cros' selling point. I bought a kids cayman because I wanted to put cute jibbitz!
